Our Story

Treehouse Learning and Development Tree Design (5)_edited.jpg

Danielle has always been a “Daddy’s Girl” she remembers believing that he was the strongest man in the world and there was no battle that he could not defeat! They share a lot of similarities, from their appearance, to taste in food and personality. As a teen she learned that her academic struggles were also shared by her father, who did not learn to read properly until his 40's. Learning this only increased the love and respect she has for her Father who has always been an amazing provider, protector and Dad to her family, even with his academic struggles. How did he graduate from high school not knowing how to read and write properly? Could this struggle be hereditary somehow? She later learned that her maternal Grandmother also shared literacy deficits. She had lots of questions and she wanted to become the solution!

Along the way, she contemplated giving up on her dream of ever becoming an educator, she even questioned if she could be a successful one, with all of her academic conflict. As she reflects, it was her deficits that became the reason to continue fighting for her dream! She knew that her story of overcoming and persevering, would one day encourage her future students! Danielle went on to receive her bachelors in Special Education with a specialty in Learning and Behavior Disorders in May 2012, and her Masters in Educational Leadership with a specialty in Literacy in June of 2019! She then began to work in her passion and super-power as an educator!!

Our founder, Danielle Easley, has always had a passion for education. As a child she understood the importance of education and the impact it can have on one's success. Her academic struggles with literacy only emphasized this importance. Learning to read was not an easy feat for her. She recalls feelings of anxiety during reading classes in elementary school. Her struggles with learning continued throughout her educational career, even into her college years. What should’ve taken her fours years to finish, turned into nine.

These life experiences have fueled her passion as a Special Education teacher. For the past 15 years she has worked as an advocate for struggling students. And in 2021, Danielle launched Treehouse Learning and Development LLC, named after her father whose nickname is "Treehouse." Treehouse now works to empower adults and children through literacy!

When she is not teaching, she is diligently working to be the best Wife and Mother that she can be to her husband, Patrick and their two boys, Israel and Joel.

Working to eliminate illiteracy & expand our community's educational potential.
